Barry Coe was an American actor.

Coe was discovered by a talent agent while attending the University of Southern California in the mid-1950s.

He appeared in Elvis Presley’s first film, Love Me Tender (1956), and the film version of Peyton Place (1957).

Coe played magazine writer Ben Gregory on the short-lived ABC series Follow the Sun.

Coe appeared in ”The First Born," a 1962 episode of Bonanza, as Clay Stafford, a ranch hand who claimed to be the half-brother of Little Joe (Michael Landon). The character was originally set to be permanent, but was ultimately written out of the show.

Coe’s other television work includes appearances on Cheyenne, General Hospital, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Bracken’s World, Mission: Impossible, and Mary Tyler Moore.

From the late 1970s to the early 1980s, Coe played "Mr. Goodwrench" in television commercials for a chain of national auto parts stores owned by General Motors.

Coe died July 16, 2019, in Palm Desert, California. He was 84.
