Earl Kress, a Primetime Emmy-nominated animation writer, died September 19, 2011, in Los Angeles He was 60.
According to news reports, the cause was liver cancer.
Kress began his career in 1975, with The Oddball Couple, animated adaptation of Neil Simon's play The Odd Couple, and went on to wrote for dozens of shows, including Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, The Transformers, DuckTales, Pound Puppies, Smurfs, Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs.
He received his Emmys, as well as an Annie Award, for episodes of the Warner Bros. production Pinky and the Brain.
In addition, he earned an Emmy nomination for Animaniacs.
