Burt Reinhardt, the former president of CNN and one of the global news network’s architects, died May 10, 2011, at his home in Marietta, Geogia. He was 91.
According to news reports, Reinhardt had suffered from ischemic strokes prior to his passing.
Reinhardt joined CNN in 1979, shortly before its launch. He became the network’s president in 1983 and remained with the company until his retirement in 2003.
