Vic Dunlop, a standup comic perhaps best known for his many appearances on the comedy game show Make Me Laugh, died August 13, 2011, at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, in Glendale, California. He was 62.
According to news reports, the cause was complications of diabetes.
Dunlop began his career in Los Angeles in the early 1970s with Natural Gas, a small comedy-improv group that appeared regularly on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert.
He later established a greater public profile as one of the comedians on Make Me Laugh.
Dunlop was a regular on Richard Pryor's 1977 comedy-variety show and on the 1981-82 sitcom Harper Valley P.T.A. Later, in the early 1990s, Dunlop co-wrote and starred in the comedy film Breakfast of Aliens.
In addition he appeared in the films Skatetown, U.S.A., The Devil and Max Devlin, Ladies Night, Meatballs Part II and Martians Go Home.
Although he lost a leg to diabetes in 2000, Dunlop continued to perform, as recently as last month at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas.
Survivors include his mother, his wife, a son, a daughter, four brothers, a sister and four grandchildren.
