Vic Heutschy, Veteran Publicist for Film and Television

Vic Heutschy, a film and television publicist for more than half a century, died September 11, 2011, in Century City, California. He was 79.

According to news reports, he died of natural causes.

Heutschy began his career in 1955 as a junior publicist at MGM. Two years later, he joined Rogers & Cowan, where he led the television department and was responsible for such shows as The Danny Thomas Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Andy Griffith Show.

He later became a unit publicist on dozens of feature films, including Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, New York, New York, Caddyshack, Missing, The Money Pit and many others.
