Allan Rich was an American actor.

He began his acting career in the theater appearing in productions of I'll Take the High Road (1943), Darkness at Noon (1951), and The Emperor's Clothes (1953).

Rich was one of the many alleged communist sympathizers in the 1950s, eventually returning to television in 1963 in Armstrong Circle Theater and Naked City.

His career re-ignited with roles in Serpico (1973) and The Gambler (1974), and he would go on to become a prolific character actor appearing in over 130 projects.

On television, he had recurring roles in Hill Street Blues, Equal Justice, and Judging Amy, and guest starred in a number of programs including The Rockford Files, All in the Family, Hawaii Five-O, Kojak, Little House on the Prairie, Baretta, Happy Days, CHiPs, The Incredible Hulk, Cagney & Lacey, The Golden Girls, The Nanny, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Rich died August 22, 2020, in Englewood, New Jersey. He was 94.
