Founded in 1946, the Television Academy is dedicated to honoring excellence in television while promoting creativity, diversity and empowering storytellers through recognition, education and leadership.
The Television Academy is comprised of over 27,000 industry professionals across 31 Peer Groups representing numerous fields of expertise including writers, directors, producers, performers, and below-the-line artisans. The possibilities for television and our industry are unlimited!

Give Back
You can "give back" and support the Television Academy Foundation's extraordinary educational programs and events like the College Television Awards and the Student Internship Program, by volunteering to judge the entries, or serving as an intern host.
In addition, your tax-deductible donations help provide deserving students from all backgrounds with access to the tools, experiences and employers who will channel them for success, and can also help update and reshape nationwide curricula via the annual Media Educators Conference.

Screening Room

Experience our premiere film program which offers over 40 film showings a year for $96/year annually. After you have seen a film in our most technologically advanced, state-of-the-art Wolf Theatre at the Academy's campus in North Hollywood, you will never want to go anyplace else! The Wolf Theatre features Dolby's state-of-the-art, award-winning audio and visual, and accessibility solutions.
Membership Requirements and the Application Process
You do not need an invitation to be part of the Television Academy. If you work in television, applying for membership is easy and can be accomplished in 20 minutes or less.
Steps to Join
Membership Types and Fees
Individuals should meet the following minimum requirements:
are at least eighteen (18) years of age
are or have been actively engaged in activities related to the production or distribution of television for national exhibition during the four (4) immediately preceding years and:
qualify for admission to one (1) or more of the Peer Groups or
have been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award within the four (4) years immediately preceding their application for membership or
have achieved a significant body of work relevant to the peer group that warrants a waiver of the peer group requirements.
National Associate Membership: $150 per year
Individuals should meet the following minimum requirements:
are currently working in the production or distribution of television
qualify for admission to one (1) or more of the Peer Groups
Los Angeles Area Active Membership: $225 per year
Individuals who are actively engaged in activities related to the production or distribution of television for local exhibition within the Metropolitan Los Angeles qualify for Los Angeles Area Peer Group.
Screening Room: Optional Subscription $96 per year

All Los Angeles-based members can experience the latest in entertainment at the Television Academy's state-of-the-art Wolf Theatre by adding Screening Room to their membership. Members and guests can enjoy new film releases and other big-screen offerings in one of the most technologically advanced screening rooms in the country.
Members can bring one guest for free and up to two additional guests for $5 to unlimited showings. It is a Television Academy benefit you don't want to miss!
