Moving to Los Angeles, she started writing made-for-TV movies. Her script for Miss Rose White earned her an Emmy nomination in 1992.
Her teleplay for Children's Special My Louisiana Sky in 2002 received a Daytime Emmy nomination and won the WGA Award and Humanitas Prize.
Sandor always stayed very involved in the Television Academy as a voting member, on committees, and speaking on panels.
