Anthony Chisholm was an American actor.

An accomplished stage actor with numerous Broadway credits, Chisholm earned a 2007 Tony nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role in August Wilson’s play Radio Golf.

His television resume includes episodes of New York Undercover, Third Watch, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and Oz, the HBO crime drama series in which Chisholm played prisoner Burr Redding for three seasons.

Chisholm acted in numerous films over the years, including Putney Swope (directed by Robert Downey, Sr.), Cotton Comes to Harlem (with Godfrey Cambridge), Beloved (with Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover), Reign Over Me (with Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle), Premium Rush (with Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and the 2017 remake of Going in Style (with Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman).

Chisholm died October 16, 2020, in Montclair, New Jersey. He was 77.
