Barry Melrose was an athlete and broadcaster who appeared on television series and films. He was an ice hockey player who played for the Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings. After he retired from being a player, he became a coach and led the Los Angeles Kings to their first Stanley Cup appearance.
Melrose later became a colorful and popular hockey analyst for ESPN. He worked for that network from 1994-2022. Melrose also appeared as himself on Spin City and in the films "Mystery, Alaska" and "Slap Shot 2: Breaking the Ice."
