Ben Jones was an actor and congressman who worked on television series and films. He was best known as Cooter on The Dukes of Hazzard. He can also be seen on Nashville 99 and The Magical World of Disney.

In addition to his work in television, Jones also acted in several films. He can be seen in "Primary Colors," "Together for Days," and "Don't Change My World."

Jones later became a two term Democratic congressman from Georgia. He served two terms before redistricting led him to lose his seat. Jones later lost an election to Newt Gingrich, but a lawsuit he filed against him led Gingrich to be reprimanded by the House of Representatives and reimburse them for $300,000 for the cost of the investigation.
