Bill Swearingen was a camera operator best known for his work on the films Grease and Airport. He also contributed to the classic television series Happy Days, The Waltons and Peyton Place.

Swearingen, a charter member of the Society of Camera Operators, also worked on the series Daktari, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman, Mork & Mindy, The Amazing Spider-Man and Falcon Crest.

Additionally, he contributed to the films Will Penny and Earthquake, both starring Charlton Heston; The Master Gunfighter; and Rockshow, a documentary chronicling the mid-1970s tour of the band Wings, featuring Paul McCartney.

He also appeared as a cameraman in the 1988 comedic horror film Elvira: Mistress of the Dark.

Swearingen died February 15, 2017, in Sherman Oaks, California. He was 79.
