Bobbie Battista was an American journalist and television newscaster.
After earning a bachelors degree in radio, television and film production at Northwestern University, Battista went on to anchor numerous broadcasts and programs on CNN, including CNN Headline News and CNN International.
During her two-decade tenure, she reported on several historic events including the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Challenger space shuttle disaster, the first Gulf War, and the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Battista was a recipient of the Peabody Award and received a number of other awards for producing and writing various television news programs.
Battista died March 3, 2020, in Davenport, Iowa. She was 67.
