Brandis Kemp was an American actress and comedian.

With a master’s degree in drama and literature from Stanford University, Kemp spent five decades working in comedy.

She is best known for her work alongside Larry David and Michael Richards on the variety show Fridays and for her role as Alma Cox on the CBS spinoff AfterMASH.

Kemp appeared in a wide variety of television programs including Miracles, Martial Law, The Pretender, Chicago Hope, Remington Steel, Designing Woman, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, The Wonder Years, The Golden Girls, Perfect Strangers, Coach, Webster, Grace Under Fire, and ER.

She also appeared on the big screen in Welcome to 18 (1986), A Dangerous Woman (1993), Hexed (1993), Clifford (1994), and When a Man Loves a Woman (1994).

Kemp died July 4, 2020, in Los Feliz, California. She was 76.
