Caleb Bankston was a contestant on Survivor: Blood vs. Water, the 2013 edition of the long-runnning CBS reality competition series.
The Alabama native, who competed on the show with his fiancé, Colton Cumbie, was a favorite among fans. He was eliminated on day 32, finishing ninth.
Bankston died June 24, 2014, in an accident involving a derailed train car when he was working at a coal plant in Birmingham, Alabama. He was 27.
