Charles Keating was a British actor who achieved fame on the American daytime drama Another World. He won a Daytime Emmy for his role on the NBC series in 1996.
Born in London, he got his start on the stage before breaking into television with such U.K. productions as The Life and Death of Penelope, Edward & Mrs. Simpson and Crown Court, on which he appeared from 1972 to 1979. He also co-starred in the acclaimed miniseries Brideshead Revisited.
After moving the U.S., he found work in shows such as Miami Vice and The Equalizer, among others, before joining the cast of Another World in the early 1990s. His other TV credits included Sex and the City, Xena: Warrior Princess and Alias, as well as two other long-running daytime programs, All My Children and As the World Turns.
His feature films included Awakenings and The Bodyguard.
Keating died August 9, 2014, in Weston, Connecticut. He was 72.
