Cokie Roberts was an American broadcast journalist and a bestselling author.
With a career that spanned decades as a political reporter and analyst, Roberts held prominent positions on television news programs such as ABC News, National Public Radio, Morning Edition, The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, World News Tonight, and This Week.
Her long-time coverage of Capitol Hill earned her a place into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame, as well as being named one of the 50 greatest women in the history of radio and television broadcasting.
Roberts earned her first Emmy win in 2000 for her contribution to ABC 2000: The Millennium for Special Classification for Outstanding News and Documentary Program Achievement. The second came ten years later with her collaboration on ABC News: Inauguration 2009 for Outstanding Live Coverage of a Current News Story – Long Form.
Roberts died September 17, 2019, in Washington, D.C. She was 75.
