Danny Daniels was a choreographer and dancer best known for his Tony Award-winning choreography for the 1984 production The Tap Dance Kid.

Daniels was also an Emmy Award winner for his work on the CBS special The Fabulous Fifties, starring Dick Van Dyke.

Additionally, Daniels worked as a choreographer on the series Great Performances, The Steve Allen Plymouth Show, The Judy Garland Show and Perry Como’s Kraft Music Hall, as well as the telefilm Annie Get Your Gun.

Daniels also choreographed the films Jamboree, with Fats Domino and Jerry Lee Lewis; Pennies from Heaven, starring Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters; Zelig, starring Woody Allen; and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, starring Harrison Ford.

Daniels earned his first credit and big break at the age of 14, appearing as a tap dancer in the 1939 musical comedy The Star Maker, starring Bing Crosby.

He began appearing on Broadway two years later, when he landed a role as a chorus member in the musical Best Foot Forward, choreographed by Gene Kelly. He went on to appear in Billion Dollar Baby, Street Scene, Make Mine Manhattan and Kiss Me, Kate.

Daniels died July 7, 2017, in Santa Monica, California. He was 93.
