Danny Goldman was an American actor, voice actor, and casting director.
He is most widely recognized as the voice of Brainy Smurf in Hanna-Barbera’s animated television series The Smurfs, and as the inquisitive medical student in the opening classroom scene of Mel Brooks’ film Young Frankenstein (1974).
Often cast as finicky, nerdy characters, Goldman had recurring roles in the television shows The Good Life, Busting Loose, CHiPs, Trapper John, M.D., and Criminal Minds, perhaps with the most recognition from playing Ozzie in the 1980s series The New Mike Hammer.
He also appeared in That Girl, Columbo, Happy Days, Baretta, Kojak, The Love Boat, and The King of Queens.
Goldman died April 12, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. He was 80.
