Dave Madden was an actor best known for the popular 1970s television comedy The Partridge Family, which aired on ABC from 1970 to 1974. On the show, Madden played Reuben Kincaid, manager of the titular family pop band. Kincaid often swapped verbal barbs with Danny Partridge, the adolescent bassist played by Danny Bonaduce.
Born in Ontario, Canada, Madden grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana. He served in the Air Force and got his start in show business as a standup comedian.
He broke into television with a role on the TV comedy Camp Runamuck in 1966 and prior to The Partridge Family had roles in such programs as Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, Bewitched and Love, American Style.
After The Partridge Family ended its run, Madden appeared in many other series, including Starsky and Hutch, Barney Miller, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Alice, Herman's Head and Married..with Children.
He reflected on his career in a 2007 memoir, Reuben on Wry.
Madden died January 16, 2014, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was 82.
