Dave Schwartz was a meteorologist known for his work as a longtime anchor on The Weather Channel. He spent 22 years at the station, and was beloved by viewers and colleagues alike for his passion for weather.
A self-described “weather geek,” Schwartz had a kind, easy manner and often referred to viewers as “my friends.” He appeared on the shows America’s Morning Headquarters and The Weather Channel Evening Edition.
After earning a degree in psychology from Temple University, Schwartz received a certificate in meteorology studies from Mississippi State University. He joined The Weather Channel in 1985 as a newsroom assistant, graduating to on-camera talent in 1991.
Schwartz died July 30, 2016. He was 63.
