David G.B. Brown was a television writer who wrote for several popular series in the 1980s.

Brown got his start as a newspaper reporter and editor in Florida. He earned his first TV credit with a 1981 episode of the CBS comedy Flo, which starred Polly Holliday as the diner waitress introduced in the long-running Alice, with Linda Lavin.

His other credits included Tales of the Gold Monkey, Code Red, Simon & Simon, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Max Headroom and Hunter.

According to news reports, Brown was one of 165 writers who filed a class-action age-discrimination suit against the television industry in 2000. In 2010, the group received a $70 million settlement from networks, production studios and talent agencies.

Brown died September 6, 2014. He was 67.
