David Richardson was an American television writer and producer.

He began his career writing for the series Safe at Home, The Pat Sajak Show, and Grand, and later became a writer and a supervising producer for Empty Nest. He moved into the animation world as a writer and producer on The Simpsons and went on to contribute to Soul Man, Malcolm in the Middle, What About Joan, and Ed, but was perhaps best known for his work on three seasons of Two and a Half Men.

Richardson returned to animation as a writer and executive producer on Bill Burr's F Is For Family, guiding the show through five seasons.

Richardson died January 18, 2021, in Los Angeles, California. He was 65.
