Raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, David Steinberg graduated from the University of Wisconsin and in 1969 migrated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. He began with a stint in public relations, representing Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Sellers, and James Coburn among a host of others. He then segued into the management business and joined partners Larry Brezner and Buddy Morra at the firm Rollins & Joffe which ultimately morphed into the firm Morra Brezner Steinberg & Tenenbaum Entertainment. Over the years they have been involved with, among others, Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, David Letterman, Martin Short, Robert Klein, Martin Mull, and Woody Allen among others but specializing in the world of comedy. 
 
Throughout his forty-plus years in the entertainment industry, Steinberg has garnered recognition with Cable Ace, Emmy, Writers Guild, and Grammy awards. He has also been involved in the writing and/or producing of many hours of programming for both cable and networks including variety television such as the Oscars, ESPYs, and comedy specials for Robin Williams, Billy Crystal and Martin Short. He created a series for HBO called Women of the Night. During this same period he produced several Young Comedians shows for HBO as well. He has also developed television and feature films including "Good Morning Vietnam," "Throw Momma From the Train," and "The Greatest Game Ever Played."
