Don Nelson, a writer best known for his work on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, the long-running comedy starring his older brother, Ozzie Nelson, died September 10, 2013, in Studio City, California. He was 86.
In all, Nelson co-wrote 216 episodes of Ozzie and Harriet. He also wrote the 1952 feature film Here Come the Nelsons.
His other television credits included episodes of shows including The Ghost & Mrs. Muir, Julia, Nanny and the Professor, Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, The Doris Day Show, Bridget Loves Bernie and Simon & Simon.
Nelson also sang and played the saxophone, and in the 1950s he released two albums. He also performed at San Fernando Valley clubs for many years.
