Donny Hugo Herran is a seasoned Film and Television Production Executive with over 20 years of experience overseeing large-scale scripted and unscripted content. A graduate of the University of Central Florida's Film Production program, he began his career in independent film before moving to Los Angeles in 2004. In 2024, Donny completed the Leadership Development Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, further strengthening his executive and strategic capabilities.
Donny spent 18 years at Viacom and Paramount, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President of Production for MTVE Studios & Paramount & Showtime Media Networks. He led the physical and financial operations for high-value programming, providing strategic oversight, workflow direction, and organizational guidance across multiple linear and streaming platforms. His work included deep financial analysis, cost-optimization initiatives, and advisement on high-stakes budgetary and contractual terms—safeguarding multimillion-dollar investments while ensuring productions remained on schedule, on budget, and aligned with studio and guild standards.
Across his tenure, Donny acted as Executive in Charge of Production on several landmark scripted series, including Yellowstone, 1923, Landman, and Mobland, as well as major unscripted franchises such as The Challenge, Love & Hip Hop, Martha & Snoop's Dinner Party, and Siesta Key. Known for building scalable production infrastructures and establishing clear governance, compliance, and workflow systems, he has consistently strengthened partnerships with producers and vendors while expanding the creative and business potential of the organizations he serves.
