Dr. George Fischbeck was a Los Angeles weatherman for ABC7 Eyewitness News for nearly 20 years.

He received his training as a meteorologist while in the Air National Guard during the Korean War. After his service he taught science for 23 years in Albuquerque public schools, followed by a hosting job for a weekly science show on Albuquerque public television. He began his work as a weatherman at KOB-TV, an NBC affiliate in Albuquerque, and made the move to KABC-TV in 1972.

In 2013 Fischbeck was honored by the Los Angeles City Council, which declared April 10 "Dr. George Day" in the city of Los Angeles. That same year, he wrote a book called My Life in Weather.

Fischbeck died March 25, 2015, in Woodland Hills, California. He was 92.
