Edd Griles was a producer and director known for his work on television series, specials, movies and music videos. He created and produced the inaugural MTV Videos Music Awards, 1984 (producer 2nd annual, 1985) and well as created and produced the inaugural The ESPYS, 1993 (producer 2nd annual, 1994).  From 1996-1999 he produced The Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants.

He directed music videos for  Cyndi Lauper ("Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "Time After Time", "She Bop", and "Hole In My Heart"), Huey Lewis and the News (“The Heart of Rock & Roll,” “If This Is It,” “Stuck with You”); Eddie Murphy (“Party All the Time”); Lee Greenwood (“God Bless the USA”); Peter Wolf (“Come as You Are”); Sheena Easton (“Jimmy Mack”); Deep Purple and Rainbow; and
others.

For Shelley Duvall‘s Tall Tales & Legends in 1985, he directed the episode “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” which starred Ed Begley Jr., Charles Durning and Beverly D’Angelo, and he was a producer on a 1988 CBS adaptation of Herman Wouk‘s The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial that was directed by Robert Altman.

Edd also served as a producer on series including Maple Town, Spiral Zone and The Great Biker Build Off. Griles produced television specials such as, The Champions and AutoRox Awards, Buy Me That Too! A Kid's Survival Guide to TV Advertising as well as many other productions.
