Edward DeBlasio was both a writer and producer for eight of the nine seasons of the ABC drama Dynasty, producing 109 episodes and writing 94. He also served as a co-writer for the 1991 Dynasty reunion television movie. Later, he worked on the Dynasty spinoff series, The Colbys.

DeBlasio got his start in entertainment as a journalist, and interviewed stars such as Joan Crawford, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lewis, Sophia Loren, Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh and Rock Hudson. In 1963, he wrote a script for East Side/West Side, which kicked off a career that included stints writing for The Defenders, N.Y.P.D., Marcus Welby, M.D., Mission: Impossible, Bonanza, Medical Center and Ironside.

He also wrote and produced for the NBC dramas In the Heat of the Night, starring Carroll O’Connor, and Police Woman, starring Angie Dickinson. In addition, in 1974 he wrote the screenplay for The Man from Independence, starring Robert Vaughn as Harry S. Truman.

In 1964, DeBlasio published the book All About the Beatles.

DeBlasio died February 1, 2015, in Studio City, California. He was 88.
