Edward Gallardo was an American playwright and actor.
Born in the South Bronx, Gallardo began his career as an actor after receiving a BA in playwriting and screenwriting from the City College of New York.
He is perhaps best known for his play Simpson Street, but he also wrote: Bernie, Miss George Alliance, Rondelay, Cordelia, Waltz on a Merry-Go-Round, Mugging the Dinner Guest, Another Part of the City, Everybody Knows My Name, in addition to writing the libretto for the musical The Petrified Prince.
A familiar face on television, Gallardo appeared in the series Baretta, Hawaii Five-0, Lou Grant, M*A*S*H, and Charlie's Angels.
Gallardo died June 27th, 2019. He was 70.
