Frank McRae was an American actor.

McRae attended Tennessee State University as a double major in drama and history. McRae had a brief career as a professional football player and was the defensive tackle for the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams.

In his 30-plus year career, McRae appeared in over 40 films, including Dillinger (with Warren Oates), Last Action Hero (with Arnold Schwarzenegger), 48 Hours (with Eddie Murphy), Licence to Kill (with Timothy Dalton), Big Wednesday (with Jan-Michael Vincent), and four films with Sylvester Stallone: F.I.S.T., Paradise Alley, Lock Up, and Rocky II.

McRae’s television appearances include episodes of Police Woman, The Rockford Files, Trapper John, M.D., Magnum, P.I., Hill Street Blues, and ER.

McRae died April 29, 2021, in Santa Monica, California. He was 80.
