Frederick Wiseman was an acclaimed and beloved director of documentaries. He chronicled American and European institutions for over 50 years. His work can be seen in "Hospital," "Law and Order," and "Belfast, Maine."
Wiseman received three Emmys for Outstanding Achievement in News Documentary Programming. He also received an Academy Honorary Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2016.
