Fumi Kitahara was a publicity executive who worked on publicity for many departments within the television and film industry. She served as a unit publicist on HBO First Look and films including "The Prince of Egypt," "Coraline," "Shrek 2," "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and "Tyrus."

After working as head of animation publicity at DreamWorks, Fumi went on to open her own publicity firm where she represented a handful of Oscar nominated and winning films. She served on the Board of Directors as PR chair for Women in Animation and was a member of the public relations department of AMPAS.
