Geoffrey Mason was a producer who worked in sports television. He produced coverage of eight Olympic games for ABC, including the infamous 1972 Olympic Games in Munich where the Palestinian militant group Black Sunday held Israeli athletes hostage before later killing them. Mason was later portrayed as a character in the film "September 5th" about this period.
He worked for NBC, Fox, ESPN, and the NFL Network over the course of a five decade-long career that saw him produce coverage of many iconic sports events. Mason was inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2010.
