George Gerdes was an American actor.

He is perhaps best known for dozens of guest starring appearances throughout five decades of television, as well as his work on the films The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), Hidalgo (2004), Iron Will (1994), and Single White Female (1992).

A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Gerdes was a triple threat, recording two folk/pop albums for United Artists Records and appearing in Sam Shepard's off-Broadway production, Fool for Love, as well as Aaron Sorkin's Broadway play, A Few Good Men.

In the 1980s, Gerdes first appeared on the small screen in Our Family Honor and would go on to guest star in a number of programs including Miami Vice, The Equalizer, L.A. Law, Seinfeld, The X-Files, Walker: Texas Ranger, Nash Bridges, Cold Case, ER, Lost, Dexter, and Bosch, in which he had a recurring role.

Gerdes died January 1, 2021, in Glendale, California. He was 72.
