George Kaczender was a director, editor and writer best known for his work helming the 1978 film In Praise of Older Women.

The World War II-set drama starred Tom Berenger as a Hungarian man who learns about love from an older woman.

He also directed the films Don’t Let the Angels Fall, Agency and Your Ticket Is No Longer Valid, as well as the telefilms Christmas on Division Street, with Fred Savage; Betrayal of Trust, with Judith Light and Judd Hirsch; Where Are My Children?; Vanished; Ebbie; Devil’s Food; and Indiscretion of an American Housewife.

Additionally, he helmed episodes of the series Night Heat, Falcon Crest and Freddy’s Nightmares.

Kaczender died August 24, 2016, in Los Angeles. He was 83.
