Hope Clarke was a choreographer and actor who worked on television series, films, and theatrical productions. She choreographed the dance numbers for Square One Television. Clarke also acted in numerous television series including Law & Order, The Jeffersons, and What's Happening!!

Clarke also acted in several films. She can be seen in "Basquiat," "Angel Heart," and "Rustin."

In addition to her work in television and film, Clarke also had a long career in the theater. She received a Tony Award nomination for "Jelly's Last Jam" and also choreographed the original Broadway and Off-Broadway productions of "The Colored Museum," "The Caucasian Chalk Circle," and "Caroline, Or Change." Clarke also served as a principal dancer in the Katherine Dunham Company and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
