Jack Sheldon was an American jazz trumpeter, singer, and actor.

He was originally known for his participation in the West Coast jazz movement of the 1950s, recording and performing with figures such as Stan Kenton, Art Pepper, and Gerry Mulligan.

Sheldon became more widely recognized for serving as musical director of The Merv Griffin Show, and for his on-air banter with Griffin.

Sheldon worked as an actor in quite a few television shows, including Gilligan's Island, I Spy, Petticoat Junction, Dragnet, Adam-12, and Police Woman.

His voice is perhaps best known from the Schoolhouse Rock! cartoons of the 1970s, such as "Conjunction Junction" and "I'm Just a Bill."

Sheldon died December 27th, 2019, in Los Angeles, California. He was 88.
