James Houghton was an actor and screenwriter. He is recognized for his role in Knots Landing and his appearances in other series including McKeever and the Colonel, The Young and the Restless, Code R, The Love Boat and The Colbys. Houghton can be seen in films including "Sweet Sugar," "One on One," "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and "Superstition."
Houghton later became a screenwriter, serving as associate head writer on over 1,800 episodes of The Young and the Restless. Other shows he worked on scripts for include Days of Our Lives, Tales from the Darkside and The Bold and the Beautiful.
