Jerry Heller was a veteran music manager who handled the gangsta rap super group N.W.A.

Heller was portrayed by Paul Giamatti in the 2015 film Straight Outta Compton.

He started his career in the 1960s, and worked with Pink Floyd, Marvin Gaye, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Elton John.

Heller served as a music supervisor on the 2013 film Friend Request, and as an executive producer on the 2004 film Raising Genius.

Additionally, he appeared as himself on episodes of Behind the Music, Unsung, Beef: Behind the Bullet and a 2008 TV documentary, NWA: The World’s Most Dangerous Group.

Heller died September 2, 2016, in Thousand Oaks, California. He was 75.
