Jesikah Suggs was a television/film writer and producer, most notable for writing and producing four seasons of the Netflix hit My Life with the Walter Boys. Recently she wrote for Prime Video's It’s Not Like That, Jason Katim’s As We See It, and Apple TV’s My Glory Was I Had Such Friends, helmed by J.J. Abrams and Julia Brownell. She also had projects in development with DreamWorks Animation and Imagine Entertainment.
Her feature credits include The Gameplan for Netflix and The Love Train, written for Elizabeth Gabler at Sony 3000 Pictures and Lorenzo di Bonaventura. Prior to her success as a writer, Jesikah worked as a Showrunner’s Assistant to Jason Katims under his Universal and Apple deals on Netflix’s Away, Fox’s Almost Family, NBC’s Rise, and Hulu’s The Path. Jesikah also worked in the theatre world on New York Stage & Film’s "Powerhouse Showcase: Williamsburg," produced by Jeffrey Seller as well as co-writing, producing, and directing the Kennedy Center’s musical production of "ASCAP Presents Liz Suggs."
Jesikah got her start in reality TV, working as a PA on CBS’ Big Brother before quickly moving into the scripted sphere as an assistant on the indie feature "Ana Maria In Novella Land," NBC’s Heartbeat, and CBS’ Pure Genius. Before going to heaven due to her courageous and faithful 8 year battle with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, she was tapping away at her first YA novel.
Born in Dallas, Texas, Jesikah was the youngest of 4 siblings. She grew up in Irving, Texas where she attended North Hills Academy. Jesikah was extremely active in school athletics, playing soccer and basketball, and participating in drama. Her great passion for reading began in the 1st grade and continued on into her final days. Jesikah followed her siblings to Baylor University, where she graduated with a degree in English and a minor in film and digital media. After college, she moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career as a television and film writer. Jesikah possessed a rare gift for bringing hope and humanity to difficult stories. Her writing reflected her deep understanding of people and her ability to find light in places of suffering.
On December 14th, 2024 Jesikah Suggs married actor Dustin Ingram in Los Gatos, CA.
She continued writing on the upcoming 4th season of My Life with the Walter Boys until the final month of her life, pouring her heart and every other part of herself into her work.
