Jim Bakker was a televangelist and convicted felon. He and his wife Tammy Faye began their career in television with a children's show on Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcast Network. He also hosted The 700 Club before he left Robertson's network to create the PTL Satellite Network.
Bakker hosted The PTL Club, his signature series, from 1974 until 1987. He resigned from his series and company after sexual assault allegations from his employee Jessica Hahn. In 1988, Baker was indicted for mail fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy. He received a sentence of 45 years that was later commuted to 8 years.
Years he was released from prison, Bakker and his second wife Lori created The Jim Bakker Show.
