John Eimen became an actor on television and in the movies at the tender age of six.

Eimen's working life began as a cute red-headed and freckle-faced child when he was discovered in his Los Angeles area classroom by an entertainment agent who happened to be a close friend of Eimen's first grade teacher. His TV debut was as a classmate of Theodore Cleaver in the premiere episode of Leave It to Beaver, starring Jerry Mathers. He would go on to have several appearances with speaking parts in later episodes of the legendary series during its 1957-1963 run.

Eimen, who was born in Chicago, had roles in numerous popular TV shows between the late 1950s and throughout the 1960s. They include a co-starring role in the children's sitcom McKeever and the Colonel during the 1962-63 season as Cadet Monk Roberts, a student in a military school. He also made guest appearances in such shows as The Twilight Zone, Have Gun—Will Travel, The Untouchables, Wagon Train, Petticoat Junction, Bachelor Father, The Rebel, The Lloyd Bridges Show, and Wendy and Me starring George Burns.

In addition, he was cast to co-star with Academy Award winner Jane Wyman in a proposed 1961 drama series, Dr. Kate.

"It seemed that a big break had come my way when I was chosen to play her (Wyman's) son Tommy in the series' pilot," Eimen remembered. "With a sponsor in place, this show had the possibility to run for many years, considering Ms. Wyman's status as an Academy Award-winning actress. However, she backed out of the deal, claiming dissatisfaction with the proposed 'after-prime time' schedule slot in the channel lineup."

While the series with Wyman never materialized, the pilot episode was re-formatted into a TV movie for the Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse. "I still get small residual checks from that show, from time to time," Eimen noted a few years ago.

With Dr. Kate not becoming a series, it meant that the 14 year-old Eimen was available to be cast as a series regular in McKeever and the Colonel.

In addition to acting, he also was a model. Eimen's young face gained national prominence when he appeared, with a white milky mustache, in national print advertising for the Carnation Company, a maker of dairy-related products.

Unlike many other child actors, he had no emotional issues when acting parts became scarce while growing into young adulthood. Eimen simply transitioned into a music career as a singer/guitarist/songwriter. Later he moved to Japan, where he met and got married. Eimen spent more than 10 years teaching English and performing his music in clubs and on Japanese television.

Eimen and his young family moved back to the United States in the mid-1990s, first settling in West Seattle and later relocating to Mukilteo, about 20 miles north of Seattle. He then began his final career, spending 25-years as a flight attendant on international routes for a major U.S. airline, aided by his speaking fluent Japanese. He retired from the airline at 71 in 2020.
