John Nuzzi was a veteran marketing executive who worked at both Fox and ABC over the course of his career. Prior to his passing, Nuzzi most recently worked for the media firms Initiative and Carat, where he led the global company as its managing director.

He attended Georgetown University and got his start as a sales assistant at Katz Media Group and as a media planner at the Shalek Agency.

Nuzzi then worked at Fox for eight years, beginning in 1990. He led marketing teams for the series The Simpsons, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place and The X-Files.

He then spent the following eight years at ABC as vice president of affiliate marketing, followed by eight years at the media strategy and investment agency Initiative, as managing director, West Coast & entertainment.

Nuzzi died May 4, 2016, in Sherman Oaks, California. He was 49.
