Liz Holzman was an animator and producer who won three Daytime Emmy Awards for her work.
A native of the San Francisco Bay area, Holzman studied at Mills College in northern California, Rice University in Texas and Cal Arts, north of Los Angeles.
She broke into TV animation in the early 1980s with Alvin and the Chipmunks and went on to work on many other animated shows, including The Smurfs, DuckTales, Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Muppet Babies, Darkwing Duck, Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs.
Over the course of her career she worked as an animator, character designer, storyboard artist, writer, director and producer.
She was nominated for nine Daytime Emmy Awards and won three.
Holzman died August 11, 2014, in Portland, Oregon. She was 61.
