Marguerite Ray was an American actress.

Ray was born in New Orleans, graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in Recreation and Theatre Arts.

A prolific television actress, Ray appeared in episodes of Days of Our Lives, The Wild Wild West, Bewitched, The Bill Cosby Show, Ironside, Barnaby Jones, Marcus Welby, M.D., The Odd Couple, Good Times, The Rockford Files, Quincy M.E., and Dynasty.

She appeared on an episode of Sanford and Son and became a regular on its sequel, Sanford, playing the wealthy widow girlfriend of Fred Sanford (Redd Foxx). Ray originated the role of Mamie Johnson in the soap opera The Young and the Restless, playing the character from 1980 to 1990.

Ray died November 18, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. She was 89.
