Maurice Roeves was a Scottish-born actor.

Perhaps best known for his work on The Last of the Mohicans (1992) and Judge Dredd (1995), Roeves was a true chameleon who also appeared in the films Ulysses (1967), The Eagle Has Landed (1976), Victory (1981), Hidden Agenda (1990), The Negotiator (1994), Beautiful Creatures (2000), The Dark (2005), and Macbeth (2015).

He had recurring roles in television series such as Scobie in September, Scotch on the Rocks, Crown Court, Danger UXB, The Nightmare Man, On the Line, Doctor Who, Days of Our Lives, Tutti Frutti, and Grafters.

Roeves also made a number of guest starring appearances in The Nest, Two Doors Down, Doctors, Guardians, Murder, She Wrote, Cheers, Baywatch, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Magnum P.I., and Remington Steele.

Roeves died July 15, 2020, in Nottinghamshire, England. He was 83.
