Michael Fortunato, a subject of the MTV series Catfish, died October 12, 2013, in Hartford, Connecticut. The reported cause was a pulmonary embolism. Fortunato, 26, starred in the "Ashley and Mike" episode from the show's second season, which followed he and 20-year-old Ashley Sawyer as they met for the first time after being in a seven-year online relationship.
