Midwin Charles was an American legal analyst and defense attorney.

Charles was best known for providing legal analysis for CNN and MSNBC, appearing on programs such as Politics Nation with Al Sharpton, Hardball with Chris Matthews, The Wendy Williams Show, and A.M. Joy.

A graduate of Syracuse University, she went on to earn her law degree at American University Washington College of Law, and would later serve as a law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit.

Charles was the founder of Midwin Charles & Associates LLC, a contributor to Essence Magazine, and she also delivered commentary on Bloomberg TV, HLN, and TV One; her topics included everything from pop culture to politics.

Charles died April 6, 2021, in Brooklyn, New York. She was 47.
