Mike Hegan was a professional baseball player who later became a broadcaster. He grew up in Cleveland, where his father, Jim Hegan was a catcher for the Cleveland Indians. During his major league career he played for the New York Yankees, Seattle Pilots, Milwaukee Brewers and Oakland A's.

He retired from the Brewers in 1977 and became a television announcer for the team. In 1989 he returned to Cleveland in 1989 to work as a television and radio broadcaster for the Indians, which he did for 23 seasons.

Hegan died December 25, 2013, in Hilton Head, South Carolina. He was 71.
